Rob Freeman exhibition
Fine Art Wildlife Drawings
Feb 28 - March 15 2009
Rob Freeman is a self taught artist with a passion for the black
and white art form of drawing. He uses Mutsubishi pencils on
Scholershammer board to create his outstanding images of
wildlife. His work reflects his ongoing concern for the
environment, and the wedge tail eagle is a favourite raptor that he
continues to study and draw. He has always found the practice of
killing wedge tails a confounding display of ignorance.
Rob
works largely on a commission basis and has held many successful solo
exhibitions in Australia. He was runner up in the James Hardy Wild Life
Art prize and a prize winner in the inaugural Waterhouse Natural
History Art prize 2003. His work has been published in numerous wild
life publications including:
‘Wild Life Art News’- Minnesota USA
‘Feather and Brush: Three Centuries of Australian Bird Art’, Olsen.P (CSIRO publishing 2001)
‘Aviculture in Australia‘, Shephard.M( Black cockatoo Press 1989)
His work can be found in private collections throughout Australia and internationally.
